Septic Installation in Clay Soil or High Groundwater

Poorly draining soil and seasonal groundwater can change a septic project. The property needs its own assessment before choosing a field, mound or lagoon and planning the excavation.

EXCAVATOR-BASED WORK · NO TANK PUMPING

The individual property sets the questions

A community name does not establish the soil or seasonal water level at a site. Available area, slope, restrictive layers and nearby water features also affect planning. Use the actual assessment and design rather than assuming that every rural property around Prince George needs the same system.

Clay soil and poorly draining ground

If the assessment identifies a soil constraint, the design must address that specific condition. A replacement field, raised dispersal arrangement or lagoon each has its own requirements; none is a universal choice based on a short description of the soil.

Tell Tim whether the project is a new installation or a replacement following an identified problem. Upload the findings and plan so the excavation, material requirements and access can be discussed together.

High groundwater and seasonal wetness

A field that becomes wet during snowmelt or spring conditions needs a clear explanation of the water source and system condition. Simply adding fill or a ditch is not an established repair.

The excavation scope may involve a confirmed damaged line or a designed replacement. Required drainage, design or other specialist work should be assigned before machine work starts.

Quoting a constrained site

Access, material deliveries, the designed footprint and ground conditions can affect the estimate and sequence. Tim’s gravity, pressure and mound planning ranges are starting points; the actual project and applicable tax must be confirmed in the quote.

A FEW PRACTICAL ANSWERS

Before the digging starts.

Can you choose a system from a photo of wet ground?

No. Photos help describe the issue, but the system choice and repair require site information and appropriate assessment.

Can I send a completed design for a quote?

Yes. Use the contact form to upload your design, site plan and access photos. Tim receives the files with your enquiry and can discuss the installation scope.
