Typical septic installation prices.

These are the average installation ranges Tim supplied in October 2026 for planning a project around Prince George. They are not fixed quotes, repair prices or a guarantee that a system is suitable for your property.

Different problems. Different scopes.

There is no useful single price for “septic work”. Before comparing estimates, establish what is being exposed, repaired, installed or replaced. Northern Septics focuses on the excavator work; pumping and routine mechanical servicing are separate.

Tank lids, risers and access excavationTank depth and location, compatible replacement parts, excavation limits, removal and reinstatement.
Distribution box replacementAccess, depth, specified component, connected pipework and backfill.
Old tank removal or decommissioningAgreed method, tank condition, lifting or transport, handling by others and backfill. Pumping is separate.
Buried access or test pitsMachine mobilisation, known locations, working room, depth and who directs the investigation.

Ask what the estimate includes.

  • Travel, mobilisation and minimum machine time.
  • Operator time and the exact excavation limits.
  • Material supply, delivery and any removed spoil.
  • Existing tank handling and any work by another provider.
  • Backfill, final surface and the extent of reinstatement.
  • Design, assessment, testing, documentation and applicable tax.

A quote for digging access should not be compared with a quote that also includes replacement materials and finished reinstatement. Ask where the work starts and ends.

Send Tim your property area, the problem or proposed work, access photos and any drawings or findings. If a defect has not been identified, say that too. A symptom on its own is not a complete excavation scope.

Prices and any applicable tax are confirmed in your estimate. The installation ranges above are a starting point; contact Tim for current pricing for the actual work.
