Septic tank excavation: more than a tank price
A tank-only product price does not describe an installation job. Access, excavation size, base preparation, existing connections, removal of the old tank and reinstatement can materially change the scope.
Before arranging delivery, confirm the selected tank, its specifications, the placement method and the site plan with the people responsible for the project. Machine and lifting requirements need to be established for the actual tank.
Replacing an existing tank
Replacement may be considered when the tank’s condition or project requirements call for it. The condition of the field and connected piping should be understood as well; replacing one component does not automatically resolve another problem.
Any required pumping, waste handling, disconnection or specialist work should be identified separately. Tim does not provide tank pumping. Ask for an estimate that clearly defines excavation, removal or placement responsibilities, connections and backfill.
Useful details for Tim

- Known damage, inspection findings or the reason for replacement.
- Proposed tank details, if already selected through the project team.
- Delivery and machine access, overhead clearance and working room.
- The surface to be reinstated and any spoil-removal needs.
