Excavation with the whole site in mind
A septic project involves more than reaching the tank. Machine access, existing services, available working space, soil conditions and the final ground surface all affect the job. Start by telling Tim where the property is, what needs attention and what is already known about the system.
The excavation scope can be discussed separately from system design, pumping, testing and other specialist work. That keeps the estimate tied to the work actually required.
Where an excavator can help
- Exposing a buried septic tank, connection or damaged line.
- Preparing an excavation for tank installation or replacement.
- Opening trenches for buried piping or field work.
- Digging test pits for a qualified system designer, where arranged.
- Backfilling and reinstating the agreed work area.
What to send before a site visit
A few photos of the access route and work area are useful. Include any system drawing, the approximate location of the tank and field, and what another contractor has already found. If the system location is uncertain, say so rather than guessing.
Tim can then discuss access, the likely machine work and whether more information is needed before an estimate. Exact scope and scheduling are agreed for the property.
