Septic Lagoon Excavation in Prince George

Planning a private septic lagoon or excavation around an existing one? Talk to Tim about the ground work for your property in Prince George and properties within 50 km.

EXCAVATOR-BASED WORK · NO TANK PUMPING

Start with the lagoon you actually have

A private septic lagoon is different from a buried dispersal field and from a municipal wastewater facility. The site layout, inlet, embankments, soil or lining and the approved system plan matter to any proposed earthworks.

Northern Health’s subdivision guidance considers zero-discharge lagoons where soil and site conditions allow. That does not mean a lagoon is suitable for every property or that one standard repair applies to all lagoons.

Define the machine work

If you are planning installation, or have been told that a buried inlet or earthwork needs attention, send Tim the drawings and findings you have. He can discuss the proposed excavation scope and what else needs to be arranged.

Berm reconstruction, lining work, rehabilitation and changes to the lagoon layout each need specific assessment and agreement. They are not interchangeable maintenance tasks. No pumping or desludging service is offered here.

Details that help scope the project

  • Property location, lagoon layout and any system record.
  • The exact concern: damaged inlet, earthwork condition or a planned installation.
  • Available findings or recommendations from the qualified project team.
  • Access and ground conditions around the proposed work area.
  • Materials, removed soil and the work expected from each provider.
A FEW PRACTICAL ANSWERS

Before the digging starts.

Does Tim pump or empty lagoons?

No. Tim only works with his excavator. Pumping, waste removal and routine mechanical servicing are not offered.

Can you quote lagoon berm repair?

Describe the specific project and send any assessment or design. Tim must confirm the machine-work scope and whether it is a job he can take on.

Why are lagoons relevant around Prince George?

Northern Health considers zero-discharge lagoons as one site-dependent option, and regional guidance discusses their use in suitable low-permeability soils. That is not a claim that every local property has clay or uses a lagoon.
