Separate the failed part from the rest
A broken line does not by itself prove that the tank and field need replacement. Equally, replacing a damaged tank does not restore a failed field. The appropriate assessment should identify the problem and the condition of the connected system.
Some defects support a defined repair. Other sites require replacement, redesign or further investigation. A website cannot decide that from a symptom description.
Compare the same scope
When comparing estimates, check whether each includes the same mobilisation, machine work, materials, removal, backfill and surface reinstatement. Also check which design, pumping, testing and other services are separate.
A low price for exposing a pipe should not be compared with a price for replacing the whole run and restoring the surface. Ask what the proposed work is intended to solve and what is still uncertain.
A useful enquiry for Tim
- The exact problem and the findings already available.
- Whether you are considering a pipe, tank, field or lagoon project.
- System drawings, property area and access photos.
- The parts of the work already arranged with other providers.
After a failed septic inspection
If an inspection identifies a defect or recommends replacement, upload the report and any available design with your enquiry. Tim can review the proposed excavation, tank, line or field work and discuss a quote. An inspection finding should not be treated as a request to replace every component without understanding the scope.
