Pressure Distribution & Chamber Septic Fields

A pressure-distribution field and a chamber field describe different features of a septic system. Both can involve buried infrastructure, but their excavation needs depend on the actual design.

EXCAVATOR-BASED WORK · NO TANK PUMPING

Understand the words on your plan

Pressure distribution describes wastewater being delivered through a pressurised distribution arrangement. Chambers describe a dispersal construction method that uses manufactured chambers rather than a conventional gravel trench arrangement. They are not competing labels for one single system feature.

The same property can have both pressure distribution and chambers. A treatment classification such as Type 1, Type 2 or Type 3 is another separate detail.

What does a pressure septic system cost?

Tim’s typical pressure-system installation range is $35,000–$45,000 CAD. This is a planning range, not a separate chamber-field price or a pump-service price. The design, access, materials, inclusions and applicable tax must be confirmed for your property.

Keep the excavation scope clear

Tim’s role is excavator-based work. A damaged buried line, trench or dispersal area is a different enquiry from a pump, float, alarm or control fault. Northern Septics does not advertise routine mechanical or electrical service.

Before opening the ground, the system layout and repair requirements should be established. Existing components, distribution arrangement and the parts that will remain need to be protected.

Send the useful information

  • A drawing or system record showing the affected field.
  • Any diagnosis identifying a pipe or chamber defect.
  • The location and extent of the proposed excavation.
  • Access photos and any material or design specification already provided.

A FEW PRACTICAL ANSWERS

Before the digging starts.

Does an alarm mean the field needs digging?

No. An alarm can have causes that do not require excavation. Arrange appropriate diagnosis; discuss buried work with Tim if that is what the findings require.

Can I choose a replacement chamber myself?

Replacement materials and the method should suit the system design. Confirm the specification and scope with the responsible qualified person.
