Excavation for lids and risers
A buried lid or access opening can require careful machine access and excavation around the existing tank. Explain where the tank is, which access point needs attention and whether a lid or riser is being replaced.
The lid, riser and connection need to suit the actual tank and system. Confirm the selected parts and the installation scope with Tim. This is an enquiry for excavator-based access or installation, rather than a parts catalogue or routine hand-maintenance service.
Old tank removal and decommissioning
An old tank may need to be addressed when a system is replaced. Removal and decommissioning describe different scopes; the appropriate method and handling responsibilities need to be established before digging.
Any required pumping or waste removal must be arranged separately. Tim does not pump tanks. Tell him what has already been done and who is responsible for preparing the tank for the agreed excavation work.
What affects the price
- Machine access, tank depth and reliable location information.
- The tank’s condition, selected method and components being retained.
- Replacement lids or risers and their compatibility.
- Lifting, transport, removed materials and work by others.
- Backfill, surface reinstatement and applicable tax.
Send useful records before booking
Upload the system drawing, available assessment and photos of the access route. If the tank’s location is uncertain, say so. A safe investigation and a planned removal are different tasks, and the estimate should make that distinction clear.
